Botanical Lab skincare review: clay mask and face wash

I was gifted some products from Botanical Lab to test them out for 4 weeks and write an honest review, including the Neem Leaf Gentle Face Wash and Botanical Lab Turmeric Blemish Control Clay Mask…

Botanical Lab Neem Leaf Gentle Face wash | £4.99

Botanical Lab skincare review

I LOVED this face wash.

Super gentle, this foaming cleanser promises to remove makeup without stripping the skin.

I used this as my second cleanse, so having already removed my makeup I went in with this face wash to ensure my skin was squeaky clean before starting my skincare regime.

Containing Lavender and aloe vera this product is really soothing on the skin yet still leaves you feeling hydrated and not super tight or dry.

I had a few hormonal breakouts around my mouth when I first started using this cleanser and within a few days they had cleared. My skin felt brighter, fresher and more radiant.

I also loved the smell, you know when a product just smells clean? This is exactly that. A gel like consistency you only need a small amount onto a damp face to really foam up the product.

Botanical Lab skincare review

After looking into the ingredients I would advise trying this product if you are suffering with acne and/or large pores or if you’re just looking for an affordable, cruelty free brand I would highly recommend.

I already have my eye on the Pumpkin exfoliator!

Botanical Lab Tumeric Control Clay Mask | £7.99

Botanical Lab skincare review

Having already tried the face wash I looked forward to giving this clay mask a whirl as well.

To be used twice a week this mask is a deep cleansing treatment that works by unclogging the pores without over drying the skin, which is ideal for me as my skin can sometimes be on the dry side.

My first thought after use with both of these products is the price point. The products feel much more expensive. They feel a good quality product that if I hadn’t been made aware of the price, I would have thought would cost more.

This mask also works as a gentle exfoliator to remove any impurities on the skin and contains witch hazel which really helps to keep blemishes minimal.

The turmeric smell is quite strong but I for one actually love that scent, so I didn’t find it too overpowering. You also get a lot of product within the jar so having used this for a couple of weeks I still have over half a jar left.

On applying the mask, I did feel a slight tingly, which although not uncomfortable if you have super sensitive skin I would suggest trying on a small portion of the skin first. Apply a thin layer to the face and leave on for 10 minutes, I did other things whilst this mask was on and almost forgot to take it off it felt so good on the skin! Wash with warm water or use a cloth like I did to rub in circles offering that exfoliation and then pat with a dry towel.

My skin felt super glowy and fresh after just one used. Combined with the face wash above I noticed that the few blemishes I did have cleared up quite quickly.

Available online and most high street stores.
