How to create Kim K’s Dewy make up look

You don’t need to look too far to see the latest make up trend, it’s everywhere. The runway, magazines, You Tube tutorials, they’re all rocking the latest dewy makeup look for Spring/Summer 2019.

Dewy skin.

Think that gorgeous dewy makeup look a la Kim Kardashian Met gala 2019.

Dewy makeup is one of my favourite looks to do on my own face, that fresh just out of the shower look. This is a look that suits everyone, every skin tone, every age group. Who doesn’t want to look deliciously dewy?

How to get dewy makeup:

Preparation is key

I can’t stress this enough. To achieve a dewy, glowing make up look you need to start with your skin, you need super clean, exfoliated skin to achieve such a fresh look.

Not only does exfoliated skin enhance that flawless look we’re all striving for it enables any products you then put on over the top to really penetrate the skin and do their best work.

If you’re skin is dry or dehydrated, I would always suggest using a hydrating face mask of an evening, my favourite is the Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb hydrating mask followed by a good facial oil over night, allowing this to really sink into your skin whilst you sleep.

Prime yourself

Before you do anything, if you want your makeup to look even and dewy from day to night, you need to smooth the skin’s surface with a decent primer. Under Wear Future Resist Foundation Primer (£34.00) has an extremely fresh and silky feel, and is enriched with peptides, helping to make your skin instantly appear plumped, (think of it as a natural alternative to botox.)

Bake that face

Once your skin is clean and exfoliated prep the base of your skin with a Baking Oil, my favourite is only £6 from Revolution and adds a gorgeous glow to your skin even under your foundation. I even add this to my eyeshadows to achieve a glossy lid.

If your skin is oily mix in with your primer so not to upset the oil balance of your skin.

Glow Glow Glow

Next, apply a few drops of Revolution’s illuminating highlighter drops onto your cheek bones, just above your brows, along your nose and a dab on your cupids bow – you want to highlight anywhere the light naturally hits your face. Not only does this act as a beautiful canvas prior to foundation, you can also wear this product alone.

Add some colour

Add a pop of colour to your cheeks, yes you want to look fresh faced, but you don’t want to look one dimensional. Apply loreal peach blush to the apples of your cheeks for that soft windblown rosy glow.

Keep it natural

The key to dewy skin is to keep it as natural as possible, don’t add to many products to your face, just let your skin do the talking.

Overall my top tips regardless of which make up look you decide to go for is to treat your skin.

Drink your water, get your 8 hours of sleep, use a face mask at least once a week and never ever sleep with your make up on.

My favourite thing about make up is to mix and match, your skin is your own to do whatever you want to do! Have fun, be creative and you’ll glow from within.
