Bamboo Liverpool with Kids: Is This Bold Street Brunch Spot Family Friendly?

bamboo liverpool review

If you’re looking for somewhere for brunch in Liverpool with kids, Bamboo on Bold Street is definitely worth having on your radar – particularly if your child takes pancakes as seriously as mine does.

We ended up there completely by accident after visiting Quirky Quarter and Liverpool Cathedral nearby. We wandered down Bold Street looking for somewhere to eat, spotted Bamboo, got a table straight away and my daughter ordered the Kinder Bueno pancakes.

Her verdict? The best Bueno pancakes she’s ever had.

And this child has eaten a lot of pancakes.

Is Bamboo Liverpool child friendly?

Yes. Despite the Brunch & Cocktails name giving slightly more bottomless-brunch-with-your-mates energy, we felt completely comfortable eating there with my seven-year-old.

The staff were lovely, attentive without hovering and everything was really quick. We got a table easily, ordered pretty much straight away and didn’t have to wait ages for our food.

Basically, exactly what you want when eating out with a hungry child.

What is Bamboo on Bold Street like?

Bamboo is gorgeous inside.

There’s loads of greenery, pretty interiors and plenty of little details that make it feel like a proper Liverpool brunch spot rather than somewhere you’ve specifically chosen because you’re eating with kids.

It’s also right on Bold Street, so the location is really handy if you’re spending the day in Liverpool city centre.

We visited without a booking and got a table straight away, although I’d expect it to be busier during peak weekend brunch times.

The Kinder Bueno pancakes

Obviously, these were the main event.

My daughter went for the Kinder Bueno pancakes and confidently declared them the best Bueno pancakes she’s ever had.

She’s seven, so admittedly Michelin haven’t been in touch for her credentials yet, but her pancake sample size is significant.

They’re big, sweet and absolutely loaded with Kinder Bueno – essentially dessert for breakfast, which is presumably exactly what you’re hoping for when ordering them.

There were no complaints. Or leftovers.

Is Bamboo near Quirky Quarter?

Bamboo is also in a really useful location if you’re planning a day out in Liverpool with kids.

It’s only around a five-minute walk from Quirky Quarter, The Bombed Out Church and Liverpool Cathedral, which is actually how we ended up there.

That makes it an easy lunch or brunch stop if you’re visiting either, and one I’d definitely consider as part of a rainy day in Liverpool with kids too – particularly when nobody wants to spend half an hour walking across town looking for somewhere to eat.

Is Bamboo Liverpool worth visiting with kids?

For us, yes.

Bamboo isn’t somewhere I’d necessarily have thought to search for when looking for family-friendly restaurants in Liverpool, but that’s partly what I liked about it.

The decor is gorgeous, the staff were lovely, service was fast, we could walk straight in and it’s perfectly located for a day around Liverpool city centre.

And apparently, it serves the best Kinder Bueno pancakes in existence.

Where: Bold Street, Liverpool
Good for: Breakfast, brunch and lunch with kids
Near: Quirky Quarter and Liverpool Cathedral
