Day to night makeup tips

We’ve all been there, its 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon, the office is closing, and someone shouts after work drinks. You look in the mirror and your face seems to have left the building after lunch, so what do you do? Here are some top day to night makeup tips to take look right into the evening.

Add a pop of colour

Route around in your make up bag and whip out that coloured lipstick you never wear. Adding a pop of colour to your lips will transform your whole face without having to do too much. My favourite is a classic red, MAC Ruby Woo will forever be my go too.

Go for a winged eye

Adding a winged eye to a bare eyelid is by far the best way to add a little personality to your (most likely) tired end of the week eyes. One of my favourites is the NYX matte liquid liner, drag it from the inner corner of your eye towards the end and flick it out.

Add a spritz of perfume

I don’t know about you, but If I do nothing else but add a little perfume, it automatically makes me feel more put together and glam. Spritz onto your collar and your wrists for maximum effect. My favourite blend of day to night perfume is Flash by Jimmy Choo.

Go for glow

If you’ve got a compact bronzer lurking in the bottom of your bag that’s perfect, add a little to your hairline and cheeks to give you that bronzed fresh glow. I also double up my bronzer as eyeshadow when I am on the go. If you’ve got a highlighter, even better pop some on your cheekbones and along the bridge of your nose. My favourite compact for all of the above is the NARS summer days palette, or if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative NYX do an amazing compact and highlight palette for less than £20.

Day to night makeup: If all else fails

Have a gin and tonic – you will soon care less about how your make up is looking.
