Kate Hayes X Home Bargain Collection: reviewed by our Beauty Editor

Is it not every makeup artist dream to launch their own collection? That dream was realized for Liverpool’s own makeup artist Kate Hayes. Her collection, launched with Home Bargains was released earlier this month and I knew I wanted to get my hands on it to see if it lived up to the hype!

From three style of eyelashes to brush sets, tanning mitts and handy brush bags Kate has clearly used her years in the industry to pull together a collection for any make up enthusiasts with prices starting from just £2.98.

So, what are my thoughts?

Overall, the whole range looks great, and the price points are amazing for anyone on a budget. There are some stand out products for me including the Essentials kit which includes cotton pads, cotton buds, mascara brushes, lip brushes and a plastic palette. Not only is this a great kit to have as a makeup artist but its also a handy way of keeping your products sanitary. The plastic palette for me was a key product, no more mixing foundations on the back of my hand! Genius!

There are three different type of lashes ranging from natural to a more dramatic lash. My favourite being the Harper lash which is a full thicker lash. Are these the most amazing lashes I have ever tried? Probably not but I think that is more a personal preference as I wear lashes every day and love a full fluffy faux mink lash.

However, if you’re looking for a lash to pop on for a night out without breaking the bank, these are ideal and come with their own glue for perfect application.

Another favourite is the 4-piece face brush set which comes with a handy case which is ideal if you are on the go. Including a contour brush, foundation, cheek, and concealer brush these are ideal if you’re just starting out and want to add some brushes to your kit. My favourite being the conceal brush, its angled which makes it easy to apply concealer under the eye and down the nose.

One of my favourite items I tried is the pack of 3 makeup face cloths, I didn’t expect big things at all, I mean how excited can you get about face cloths? but they are amazing! Super soft on the skin they are great at helping to remove my makeup alongside my cleansing balm. They are larger than other cloths I have used so I really felt they cleaned my skin without irritation.

Overall, I was really impressed with how much thought and effort had clearly gone into creating the range and for anyone who is on a budget or just wants to try the products out you can do without feeling your spending a lot of money.
