Organising your beauty products

I don’t know about you but this lockdown period if nothing else is giving me time to do all those niggly jobs, I put off for most of the year.

With nothing to do, no one to see and no Starbucks to be drinking I am using this time to organise my whole life!

And one of those jobs being to sort out all my makeup and skincare.

And trust me this is therapeutic!

Where to start?

Make some mess. Empty those makeup bags, clear out those bathroom cabinets and lay it all out on your bed (make sure those tops are screwed on tight) I find this easier to see exactly what I have all in one place.

Throw away all out of date products

As we should all know by now, all beauty products have a shelf life, if you’re unsure take a look at the packaging there will always be a number ‘6M – meaning 6 months from purchase’ or those products you bought on a whim and have never used? Get rid.

Categorise

Group similar items together.

What I tend to do is in order of application.

Base – Primer, foundation and concealers

Skin – Bronzer, Blush and Highlight

Eyes – Mascara, Lashes, Liners

Lips – Lipsticks and Liners

Skincare – Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser

Invest in some storage

I bought these plastic tubs from Home Bargains and find it easy to keep them clean and tidy. You can also stack them with the products you don’t use on a daily basis (eyeshadow palettes etc)

Amazon is another great option to order from.

However, if you don’t want to wait use shoeboxes and cups are a great option to store your makeup brushes.

And finally…

Keep your everyday separate

So those products you use every day, keep in a different makeup bag or storage box, I always do this so I’m not constantly going in and out of my boxes.

I also have this storage box to keep all of my daily makeup in on my dressing table, which you can still purchase from Amazon.

Good luck and let me know how you get on!

xx
