Amazfit GTS 2 Mini Review

Fitness for me is something I do because I have too and not necessarily something I would do if it weren’t needed. Let’s get this straight I am more likely to opt for a bottomless brunch over a Saturday park run and that’s okay, life would be boring if we were all the same.

However, I am realistic. And for me staying fit and healthy as well as losing weight is always on the agenda for me so with the gyms closing and no access to my PT, these past 2 months during lockdown have been hard.

I am a person who needs accountability, otherwise I do my own thing. So, for the past 6 weeks I have been trialing the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini fitness watch, in the hopes that it would help me stay on track.

I never thought I would see the day that I would be sharing my steps and 5ks online, but I have become ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE and I’m not even ashamed to say it!

Amazfit GTS Review

With features including heart rate monitor, step counter, sleep tracker and the option to control your music from your phone I now could not be without it.

Personally, I have never even been a watch wearer never mind a fitness watch wearer so I worried I wouldn’t like it on my wrist, that I would find it heavy and uncomfortable but as the GTS mini is so slimline and light I don’t even notice its there.

So, what features do I use?

To be honest even now, 6 weeks down the line I am finding more and more things to try out on this watch and I love that as things that may never have been important to me, like tracking my cycle can be done via the watch.

The step counter has been by far my most used feature, working from home at a desk I struggle to get the steps in, but without a tracker its easy to lie to ourselves and think we’re getting the steps in when in reality we’re no where near. However, having this on my wrist as a reminder to get away from my desk, get some fresh air and some steps in has massively improved my overall fitness.

I also decided to start the couch to 5k and the Amazfit GTS Mini has been ideal at tracking how many calories I am burning as well as motivating me to go further each time.

It’s like having a personal trainer attached to my wrist, encouraging me to improve every day.

The sleep tracker was quite a shocker to me, I don’t always sleep the best at all and can wake up feeling tired and like I have had a restless night. After reviewing the watch and seeing how much I wake up during the night was an eye opener and has definitely made me change my bedtime routine.

I would absolutely recommend this watch to everyone, whether you’re new to fitness and after some guidance, or you’re a pro and you’re keen to show off your achievements this watch is perfect. Its not difficult to set up and use, the battery life is amazing and for me it has all the features you could want and need.
