Nourished Review: The world’s first truly personalised nutrition product

I started taking ‘taking vitamins’ seriously back in 2019 when my daughter was born. Like almost every new mum I was exhausted, overwhelmed and not taking proper care of myself, and my mental health was suffering. After a month of taking vitamins, I felt brand new and have stayed on track of my supplements ever since. But taking 5-6 vitamins after your tea each day can’t half leave you feeling like you’re rattling around – so I was really excited to learn about Nourished supplements and the 3D printing technology they use to combine 7 high impact, active ingredients into a customised supplement based on your lifestyle and goals.

My Nourished stack

Between juggling work and being a mum to an energetic toddler, I’m permanently up the wall. So I needed something that can help to keep my energy levels high and my brain focused.

After filling in the really easy questionnaire on the Nourished website explaining, in not so many words, that I needed something to help me keep my shit together, they recommended the following:

Obviously, everyone’s individual stacks will be different based on your goals and lifestyle – but I know I’m really interested in how each ingredient works to benefit your body, so I’ve shared a breakdown of the layers below:

  • White kidney bean extract: white kidney bean is a huge energy booster and taking the extract before meals may help fat loss (particularly if you eat a high starch diet.)
  • Maca powder: this actually contains many other vitamins and nutrients including vitamin C, copper, iron and vitamin B6. It’s known for boosting energy levels and enhancing memory and brain functionality.
  • CoQ10: a powerful antioxidant that helps deliver energy to your cells, CoQ10 is used in your body to help create the form of energy your body needs to live. Levels of CoQ10 decrease with age, and there’s evidence that supplementing it can help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart attacks and prevent migraines.
  • Lactospore Probiotic: Probiotics help maintain a healthy digestive tract, enhance absorption of nutrients and promote immune system function. And with 90% of the body’s serotonin is made in the digestive tract, happy gut=happy mind.
  • Vegan Vita-Algae D3: this vegan D3 option helps maintain healthy bones by absorbing calcium and phosphorus. It also helps to support the brain, immune and nervous system – and some studies have shown it can regulate mood and reduce symptoms of depression.
  • Careflow Mango Powder: As well as improving you body’s blood flow, mango powder also mimics caloric restriction – which has been shown to be one of the most effective means for slowing the pace of ageing.
  • Ashwagandha extract: this is an increasingly popular supplement that’s most renowned for it’s ability to reduce stress and promote a calmer, happier sense of being. It’s also used to increase energy levels and improve concentration.

At £39/month, they’re not the cheapest route to a healthy body and mind, but they taste delicious, are incredibly convenient and gave me the chance to try new active ingredients that I definitely wouldn’t find in the multi-vitamin aisle of the supermarket. As a busy mum, I need an easy way to keep healthy (that doesn’t take up too much cupboard space) so the Nourished vitamins are a perfect choice and I’ve already ordered by second box with just a few tweaks, (for example: I’ve swapped the white kidney bean extract for iron, because your girl gets a bit light-headed when she stands up too fast.)

Nourished and their plastic-free promise

Nourished stacks come in individual wrappers, so I was thrilled to learn (despite looking like any other sweet wrapper) the Nourished packaging is not only plastic free but also 100% biodegradable. The individual wrappers are made from a unique wood pulp material, which means you can throw them straight into your green bin knowing they will compost in just 32 weeks.
