Young Superstar Ice Skaters performing at Liverpool’s Ice Festival

For the first time since it opened, Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival is playing host to a captivating ice skating show that is set to highlight the best of Liverpool’s young skating talent. 

On Saturday 17th November at 1pm and 3pm, the rink will be transformed into a stage for the children and teenagers of Liverpool’s ice skating scene to come together for a series of gold medal-worthy performances. The first event of its kind at the Ice Festival, each solo act will be performing a unique solo act that is sure to wow the crowds.

Making up the talented cast is 12-year-old, Faye Mercer, from Prescot, Liverpool.  Faye was awarded a gold medal at SilverBlades National Final in the Artistic Competition at Coventry, and also came runner-up in Beginners at Blackpool’s Ice Festival.

Another local talent is 15-year-old, Jacob Molyneux, who regularly competes in national competitions.  Jacob is impressively on track for the team GB development squad and has placed in the top three in all his competitions since the last season. One of the youngest contenders to participate in the exciting performance is 9-year-old Caitlyn Baxby, who is already competing at national and international level, and has recently been put on the GB development squad in ice-dance. 

The talented youngsters who are all trained by professional ice skaters Michelle Cosham and Amanda Galloway will also be joined by the likes of Lucy Collins, Katherine Gillibrand, Imogen Collier and Alex Brocken, four advanced ice-dancers who have won a series of competitions and taken home gold medals in all their respective categories.

Visitors are invited to take their places around the spectator stands and support some of the best young local talent from Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

After the show, visitors will also be able to enjoy the full family-friendly festival experience with funfair rides for children and adults, and festive food and drink stalls serving après skate specialities including sizzling traditional German bratwurst, hot roast rolls, crepes, mulled wine and hot chocolate.
