Is there anything a Dermaplane facial can’t do?

Dermaplane facial

Dermaplane facial: it’s THE hottest buzz word in the beauty industry at the minute and one that does not disappoint.

Even though I am religious with my skincare regime, months of sitting under a heating system in my office I knew my skin wasn’t looking the best it could look. So, I decided to get a Dermaplane Facial, the latest high-profile beauty treatment and I was pleasantly surprised at the results.

Unsure of what exactly a Dermaplane is? It involves using a small blade (don’t worry it is completely pain free!) to remove the hair and dead skin cells we all have on our faces leaving your skin glowing.

Dermaplaning targets the baby hairs often found on our cheeks and along the hairline, the technical term for this is our ‘vellus’ hair, and as this is not the same as the hairs on our legs or underarms it does not grow back stubbly – hoorah!

One of the main things I was keen to see was whether this would help with was my make-up application, sometimes I find my foundation and powder can cling to my hairs and can look dark on my face. I’ve also noticed that lately my skin has broken out, again something I was keen to see whether this exfoliating treatment would help towards clearing.

I found Giorgia on Instagram and warmed to her immediately, she is super friendly and knowledgeable. She explained not only the treatment at hand but also gave me lots of advice on aftercare as well as well as some fabulous freebies to try at home. She has a lot of qualifications in skincare and that really showed.

So, what do you need to know before getting a Dermaplane Facial?

Dermaplane facial: it works for everyone

Regardless of your skin type this treatment benefits everyone. Whether you are looking to brighten dull skin or like me you want your make up to apply better, the removal of the ‘peach fuzz’ will leave your skin glowing after.

Your skincare will benefit

Your skin will no longer be blocked by dead skin cells meaning your skincare will be more effective and can penetrate deep into your skin. The procedure looks to remove up to three weeks of dead skin cells, so you’re looking at a month of glowing skin and who doesn’t want that?

Your hair will NOT come back darker

I did worry this may be the case but Giorgia assured me this would not happen nor will it grow back thicker.

A week later my skin feels and looks much brighter, much smoother and over all I am very impressed with the treatment. I think I can guarantee this treatment will be one I will be adding to my monthly skincare regime.
