6 Beauty tips to Survive a festival

6 Beauty tips to Survive a festival

As I write this, I am looking out of the window at the glorious British summer… of course I mean it is grey, miserable and absolutely pouring with rain.

But hey we can live in hope that this summer will get that bit better and the sun will shine, no one will be wanting this more than anyone who is attending a festival this summer.

So how do you get your beauty regime to coincide with being festival ready?

Here are my top tips to keep you looking your fabulous self this summer.

Protect your skin

The weather is so unpredictable but one thing for sure SPF is essential even if rain is forecast, after all who wants red burnt skin ruining their Instagram pictures? #justsaying

While every festival has their own rules, generally creams or sticks are preferable to sprays.

My favourite, Hawaiian tropic Satin protector SPF30.

Wipes are your best friend

Whilst I am not an advocate of using face wipes to take off your make up, this is the one time these beauties are essential. Safe to say, cleansing and toning whilst sitting in a tent will not be your priority but you don’t want your skin to suffer too much. Use these to take off your make up, clean the glitter off your arms and legs or be everyone’s friends at the porto loos.

Try a Teatree oil wipe where possible, this will help with any breakouts.

Rehydrate your skin

If you are lucky to experience some hot weather, keeping your skin hydrated is an absolute MUST.

My favourite, Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating mist. Ideal for spritzing your skin when it’s feeling a little dry but also as a good wake up after a night of partying.

It also smells divine.

Germ free festival beauty

Festivals are fabulous but let’s be honest they’re not always the cleanest, with shared toilets and shower facilities I always keep a good anti-bacterial hand gel in my bag. Ideal if soap and water is nowhere to be seen!

Hair saviour

If like me your hair can get wild, whether its prone to getting greasy or just a little out of control after a day away from a hairdryer dry shampoo will be your saviour.

Absorbing oil and dirt whilst giving a little extra body to your hair, this will keep your blow dry going a few extra days. Or if all else fails, take a hat.

Try one of the many Batiste sprays available from most stores.

Change your mascara

To a waterproof one, come rain or that sticky hot weather you can be sure your lashes will stay looking how they should! Even better, if you plan ahead treat yourself to a lash tint and you won’t have to worry!

Try Maybelline Classic Waterproof Volume mascara.

Most of all, don’t let any of the mud or mayhem of any festival ruin any of your fun!
