Top tips for healthy skin

Between managing a career, enjoying an active social life, going to the gym, eating right, keeping up with the latest dog memes and not having a nervous breakdown; life can be hectic AF. When things get stressful, our skin is the first to suffer, so to keep you looking radiant even when shit hits the fan, here are our five top tips for healthy skin.

Top tips for healthy skin: Cleanse

Cleansing your face, neck and chest on the reg is absolutely crucial for keeping your skin looking healthy (and keeping the spots at bay.) Whilst a quick once-over with a baby wipe might seem like enough #selfcare through your prosecco-fueled haze at 2am, you’re going to need to work a bit harder if you want your skin to thank you each morning. We recommend choosing a cleaner that removes dirt, oil, and other impurities that accumulate on the face throughout the day – and ideally one that has exfoliating properties to accelerate the removal of dead skin cells, helping to give your skin a fresher appearance.

Tone

Toning; that weird step that you KNOW you should be doing, but you’re not quite sure WHY. Well, as it happens, toning your skin is just as important as cleansing; not only does it restore the skin’s natural pH balance, it also refreshes the skin without over-drying.

Moisturise

If you’re not already moisturising then honestly, WYD? Moisturiser is an absolute must for everyone, whatever your age. By using a mixture of hydrators and emollients, a good moisturiser will keep the outer layer of your skin smooth and soft, and can reduce acne, wrinkles, and sun spots.

Nourish

Skin to shout about is a sign of a good diet – whilst dry, pale lizard-like skin is the sign that either you’re Pete Price or your diet lacks the necessary vitamins and minerals. You can keep your skin looking great by making sure you drink plenty of water, eat enough fruit and veg and collagen boosting supplements!

Protect

The sun can do a hell of a lot more damage than simply giving you embarrassing tan lines in April. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause brown and red spots, wrinkles, and – worst of all – skin cancer – so protect your MFing skin, ok? Make sure that you’re using a daily moisturiser that contains SPF to keep your skin looking, and feeling great, even on cloudy days.
