Ginos Liverpool venue launches new delivery and collection service ginodacampo2go.com launches on Castle Street.

Now, I don’t know about you, but takeouts have literally been my SAVIOUR of lockdown. As someone who’s always on the look out for new foodie haunts all over the city, the thought of not being able to eat restaurant-worthy food until BJ said so, was too much. Luckily, a lot of fab faves in Liverpool have jumped on the collection/delivery bandwagon whilst they’ve been closed for regular service and one of the latest additions is Gino Da Campo’s Castle Street restaurant.

Ginodacampo2go is Gino’s brand new collection and delivery service that offers restaurant-worthy Italian food to your door. Whether you’re a fan of Gino’s and have been having massive withdrawals or you’ve never tried his restaurant before and quite fancy it in your PJs in front of Netflix – then now you can.

There’s no denying how good Italian food is – I mean it’s basically just a massive combination of cheese and carbs with all the wine and tiramisu thrown in for good measure. In Liverpool, when it comes to Italian food, Gino’s has a delicious rep and pretty much everything on their menu sounds delicious. From classics such as lasagne, carbonara and linguini to different flavoured pizzas and a range of side dishes, we were totally spoilt for choice.

Finally we decided on the cheesy garlic bread (I mean, ofc), the sausage fettucini, the chicken risotto (with added pancetta) and a tomoato based pizza with sage, anchovies, olives and extra mushroom. On the side was cheesy truffle chips (again, ofc) and for dessert a huge slab of tiramasu accompanied with thick clotted cream. To wasH it all down, we picked a bottle of red from the menu (there’s a few different choices).

I mean, if there’s such a thing as a dream night in at this stage of lockdown, I’ve definitely just described it. The food was super easy to order on the website and it came within 40 mins, all super hot and nicely packaged.
Before lockdown I would never even consider the fact that you could have food from restaurants as good as Gino’s in the comfort of your own home. As much as I’m DYING to go to a real-life restaurant right now, I hope they keep up the delivery service for those nice where you just want to eat your pasta and pizza in your ugly pyjamas in peace. Gino, thank you for being my lockdown hero.
